Food Service: Cooks MC2009/55a,b  Food Service: Etta Stinebaugh was a cook at Manchester College for many years.  Here are photos from her scrapbook as well as other older pictures of women working in Food Service.  The photo of chickens at the chopping block helps date the pictures.

    Schutz, J. RaymondMC2011/227, Folders 1 - 16 J. Raymond Schutz - a man of many capabilities.  He was a professor at Manchester College, husband, father and farmer, public speaker, pastor and minister of the First Brethren Church in North Manchester, Indiana, candidate for Congress in 1932 (Indiana) and a contendor in the 1936 race for Governor. The researcher can get a feel for Pre WWII Indiana and Indiana during war.  Letters to soldiers are included as well as the names of men from North Manchester who were killed in the war.  Topics include: Prohibition, economic recovery from the Great Depression, and the impact of Hitler 's Germany on Europe. Schutz was a contemporary with Andrew Cordier who participated in some of Schutz's political involvements. 
    Schutz, J. RaymondMC2011/227, Folders 17 - 22  

    A large collection designated as MC2011/227 and divided into 5 folder groupings; [1-16], [17-22], [23-44], [45-83]. Schutz was a professor at Manchester College, as well as a farmer, public speaker, pastor, candidate for Congress (Indiana,1932) and a contendor in the 1936 Governor's race. He was a Kiwanis Club official and Chairman of the Standard Life Insurance Company of Indiana. The collection describes Indiana before and during WWII.  Schutz corresponds with soldiers and provides names of North Manchester men killed in combat. Topics of import include; prohibition, economic recovery from the Great Depression, and Hitler's impact on Europe. Schutz was a contemporary of Andrew Cordier who participated in some of Schutz's political involvements.

     
    Stinebaugh, Effie: Drama ScrapbookMC2007/6: Stinebaugh Scrapbook 

    Drama Scrap Book and class notes of Manchester College alumna, Effie Stinebaugh,depicting; charm, expression, actresses and actors, loves old sweet song, costumes, kiddie joys, youthful pleasures, settings, scenes, humor clippings.  A date is not included but clippings include, "Why I Have Not Bobbed Mine," by Mary Pickford (an article about hair) and "The Real Life Story of Charlie Chaplin."

     

    Also included are "Mathematics," class notes, and

    "Principles of Secondary Education."
