Bio History Note

A dozen students in Stacey Erickson’s English Department January 2010 course, “The Culture of the Book,” spent four mornings in the special collections of the Library.   Under the supervision of Prof. Erickson and College Archivist Jeanine Wine, they completed hands-on assignments with volumes going back 400 years.  These included a 1610 Bible bound with the important 1619 Whole Book of Psalmes, the 1628 New Holy Bible, and a 1694 edition of Foxe’s “Of Free Justification.”  They worked with one of the rare German Bibles printed in 18th century Pennsylvania by Christopher Sauer, as well as a number of 19th century Brethren-related periodicals.
