Scope and Content

Videographer, David Sollenberger, interviews M. R. Zigler on December 1984 about various topics:

A. Advice for Youth interview by David Sollenberger December, 1984 (cutaways).

B. M. R. Zigler talks on Paris Island and the History of the Brethren Service Center.

C. M. R. Zigler talks on War, the Role of General Hershey, and Working for Peace.

D. M. R. Zigler talks on The World Council of Churches. (WWC), December 1984.

F. On the Church of the Brethren.

Sollenberger also films Zigler at the On Earth Peace Event held December 1984 at New Windsor, Maryland, and also films M. R. walking around the Brethren Service Center.  He also takes video of the Brethren Service Center exterior and captures archival photographs on film.


Interviews about the personality, life and work of M. R. Zigler are conducted between 1985 - 1986 from the following individuals: Don Durnbaugh, Ken Morse, Hilton Harman, Geraldine Glick, Enten Eller, Hilton Harman, Desmond Bittinger, Eldon Burke, David Eberly, Hazel Peters, Ken Kreider, Clyde Carter, E. Paul Weaver, Linda Logan and Geraldine Glick.

M. R. Zigler's son, Robert Zigler, is a Manchester College alumnus, and made significant donations to the Manchester University Ethnographic Art Collection.

Eldon Burke was also a professor at Manchester College



Archivist NoteDavid Sollenberger gifted Manchester University with this collection in November 2017 and MU's Department of Instructional Technologies uploaded to the archives' network that same month.
