Bio History Note | Two DVDs made from the original U-Matic videocassette tape. At the time the address was given, Andrew Young was U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. He was the husband of Manchester alumna, Jean Childs Young. Young had been active in the Civil Rights movement working next to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Young went on to be Mayor of Atlanta, Georgia |
Archivist Note | Digitization from U-matic tape to DVD by David Sollenberger in December 2010. Copied to Archives' Network [W:] in September 2015. Description prepared 12 January 2011 by Jeanine M. Wine. Note made on 28 September 2015 - The original U-matic tape can not be played on any equipment possessed by the College and was digitized by David Sollenberger in 2010 and copied to Archives' Network [W] in 2015. This is the best possible copy possible. The U-matic tape will now be recycled. A cassette tape of Young's speech was discarded in November 2016 by Jeanine Wine because the best possible digital recording had been made. |
