The subject is the funeral/burial procession of General Sun Yat-sen, sometimes referred to as the "father of modern China." This is thought to be an original first copy. It contains fabulous architectural illustrations and photographs.. Perhaps this is the same book as MC2011/95, but printed within two volumes? It has a paper binding instead of silk. | Date of Accession | 11 March 2011 | Bio History Note | There is a handwritten page inserted within this book that identifys the translator as Dorothy Cheng. See the book, "Memories of ... Manchester," by Otho Winger for accounts of members of a Cheng family, alumni of Manchester College. In the Alumni Directory we find that Dorothy Cheng was married to a Lin. Dorothy was a member of the MC Class of 1930. (See page 27 of the Aurora). She was a sister to Hubert Cheng, who Otho Winger married to Ella Ling (pg. 120 of the Winger book).
