| Date of Accession | 22 April 2009 | Bio History Note | This is Ida and Otho Wingers' letter to Ida's family saying the Wingers found their cabin on board the American Merchant that was docked in New York City. The envelope is postmarked, Staten Island, Dec. 23, 6:30 PM, 1927. It appears to the Archivist that Ida wrote the primary letter and that Otho added a line on the bottom. Excerpts: Dear Ones -Just a line to let you know we have a lovely cabin, beautiful upholstered sofa and chair, lavatory, shelf, wardrobe, two beds that look beautifully clean, velbet carpet, electric light....We love you all and bid you a fond goodby... (probably Ida) Just received letter and candy. Thank you - our ship leaves in 15 minutes. God bless you all. (probably Otho)
