One drawing of Jesus, probably charcoal and pencil, by artist, Hans Joachim Sauer (Lauer?), Wiesloch bei Heidelberg, Steinbergstrasse 3. (Germany).

Segment of the matboard with the writing, "In Christ there is no East or West, in him no South or North, but one great fellowship of love throughout the whole wide world. "Given by Gerhard Weiser, German-Exchange-Student sponsored by the CHURCH of the BRETHREN at Roann, [Ind] USA. 1949/1959.

One letter written by William R. Eberly, pastor, on Gerhard's behalf, 9 October 1950 and citing Gerhard's accomplishments during the visit.

Bio History Note

It was suggested by an individual (probably Rachel Gross), that Gerhard encountered some prejudice at school and in the vicinity because of his German nationality. His visit followed WWII.

Gerhard lived at Roann, Indiana, from November, 1949, to October, 1950.

Roann is in the South Central Indiana District of the Church of the Brethren.
