The reel-to-reel tape box is labeled "Augsburger,"  1/18/1979.  Sometimes the label on the box does not match the presentation, and since the speaker on the tape was not introduced, it is impossible for the Archivist to verify the identity of the speaker.  The speaker talks about multiple binds and double binds.

A second box [MC2011/84b] is labeled "110 ft. more of Augsburger 1-18-79" and it is the same individual.  This is rather certainly two tapes by the speaker David Augsburger.

Comedian and Civil Rights leader, Dick Gregory, spoke on the Manchester College campus during "Forum '69: An Experience in Soul," March 30 - April 1, 1969.  This is a copy of his presentation.

Author, Theodore Dreiser, visited North Manchester during the summer of 1915.  His observations of the community were included in his autobiography, "A Hoosier Holiday."  John Knarr writes about Dreiser's family and includes material on the Snap/Snepp/Sheneb/Shenep/Schneb/Schnebb family as well as on the Fruit family.

A second article, "A Trip to Niagara Falls, 1925," was discovered among papers donated to the North Manchester Center for History by Descendants of Ellis and Harold Miller.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. made his last speech on a college campus here at Manchester College.  This DVD examines the effects that it had on others.

Newspaper clippings, news releases, articles and other materials related to Dr. Gene E. Likens, Manchester College alumnus, graduating in 1957 with a degree in zoology.  He is known for being the first scientist in North America to discover acid rain.

Copies of 1925 Oak Leaves articles reporting Thomas R. Marshall's last address to the public that took place at Manchester College commencement.  Also published is the last photo of Marshall following commencement on the College campus taken by Millard Royer, Manchester College alumnus, Class of 1928. There is also an Oak Leaves article regarding Marshall's death.  CD of material.

Patricia Kennedy Helman's story about Eleanor Roosevelt’s visit to the President’s home. This was prior to the construction of Tall Oaks, and perhaps added to the urgency of constructing a presidential residence.

Material regarding William Stafford. William Stafford (1914-1993), US Poet Laureate 1970, received Relief and Rehabilitation training in Civilian Public Service Camp 101 at Manchester College 1943, was member of MC English faculty 1955-56, and visited the college many other times.

Kagawa: The photograph that appears on page 116 of the book, "A Century of Faith, Learning and Service, Manchester College. " In 1936 the College hosted a major conference called "An Institute on Christian World Order," featuring Japanese peace activist Toyohiko Kagawa.

Rev. Kiyoshi was a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and worked with victims of the bomb.  He raised funds for the Hiroshima Maidens project in which women, severly burned by the bomb, received constructive surgery. He also raised funds for a peace center in Hiroshima. His message was delivered on 11 October 1982.
