Circle K records. The file contains general records and information. On 12 March 2009 a copy of the BYLAWS was added by Jeanine Wine. A 1983 memorandum is also included in this file stating that Circle K had been an affiliate of the North Manchester Kiwanis Club and operated under the sponsorship of that club. "Last fall" (presumably, 1982) the status of the campus Circle K was designated "inactive" by the Kiwanis Club and by both the District and National Kiwanis Offices. The local Circle K Club was told of this action and was made aware that authorized club activity was discontinued. Circle K "is not authorized to use campus services" until reactivation by the parent North Manchester Kiwanis Club This material was found in the Archives' stacks. Three newspaper articles from 1963, 1975 and 1978 describing projects supported by the Circle K Club:
- Benefit dance sponsored by Circle k Club to raise funds for local boy.
- A 20 mile walk to raise funds for cancer research.
- $100 and labor to the North Manchester bike trail project.
Another file containing newspaper articles was added on 2 February 2012 by Jeanine Wine. it contains several articles including, "Presentation of Circle K Charter Last Tuesday," 25 March (1963?) with a photograph of officers and officials who presented the New Circle K Charter to the new organization at Manchester College. This collection was probably assembled by Ferne Baldwin. |
