Manchester College Centennial 1889-1989. The Chime in the tower of the Administration Building, placed there in 1922, proclaimed the beginning of classes, weddings or former students, and results of athletic events. When played quickly they announced a Manchester victory, while slowly meant the team lost. A high-pitched bell indicated one point and a low-pitched was five points. Manchester's score was always given last. The chime still calls the students to class today. | Archivist Note | Materials, such as commemorative Centennial publications, "Auroras," and "Manchester Magazines" placed with same items within the Archives.
