Jonathan H. Wagner, personal letter to President Otho Winger describing the inception and building of the college circa 1889-92. Jonathan's father, S. P. Wagner, was a member of the Board of Trustees at the founding of the college. A warm and caring description of President Howe and the college along with information about the original loan and picnic-basket fundraiser, the graduation program of the class of 1892, and a copy o f the courses of study for the spring term 1895. The closing sentence: "We are proud of Manchester College and glad to refer to her as Alma Mater, even though she was a youthful mother and kind when we were there as boys." |
