Scope and Content | Dr. Sibley speaks on the topic of "freedom." He is part of a series of lectures examining contemporary images of Freedom. More lectures on this theme will follow in weeks following. 88A: Sibley lectures on, Political Freedom, Its Meaning and Problems in the Contemporary World. 88B: Sibley speaks on political freedom, its meaning and problems in our contemporary world. The title of his lecture is, "Problems and Enigmas of Freedom." |

Bio History Note | Dr. Sibley's appearance was made possible by a grant from the S&H Foundation. The two tapes contained different dates. One was 12 November 1980 and the other was 17 November 198-. More research is needed to determine which date is accurate. |
Archivist Note | Digital wave sound copies of the cassette tapes were made by MU Department of Information Technology Services, January 2014. Jeanine Wine discarded the cassette tapes in December 2015 because the best possible copies had already been made and the tapes were only in a state of deterioration.
