Newspaper and other articles describing the 1979 Industrial Chemistry tour. | Date of Accession | 07 November 2014 | Bio History Note | Dr. Miller and five chemistry students spent January Term 1979 touring chemical plants and science laboratories. Their first stop was Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis where they were greeted by Manchester alumni, James Ribley, Max Ribley and Ernest Barr. In another stop they toured the Ethyl Corporation in Baton Rouge where they were met by three more alumni employed at the plant; Bob Johnson, Clarence Neher, and Don Imhoff. They also visited Dr. Roy Plunkett (MCalumnus and discoverer of Teflon) in Corpus Christi, Texas who took them on a tour of the DuPont Freon Manufacturing Installation.
