Bio History Note | The following is copied from the 1974 Aurora: AAFRO CLUB AAFRO House: a place where Black students can go and socialize; a stronghold of Black culture on the Manchester campus; a place, too, for club meetings. Miss Eva Ferrel is the new director of the House, in addition to being the campus minorities counselor. Among the many plans the AAFRO Club has for the year is the formation of a Black Student Union, a state-wide organization for gifted and talented Blacks. The DClub also sponsors numerous dances and gatherings, some for entertainment and others to help inform the Manchester students of the culture of the Black people. The AAFRO House and its unique culture room, stocked with Black historical objects, music, paintings, and sculptures is open to anyone from the college community and it is hoped that more students will use the facilities to help bridge the gap between the different cultures. |
