Scope and Content

Letter to Timothy K. Jones of Manchester College by Robert S. Zigler, Washington, DC.  The letter starts:

"Here's the stuff re MC and the contribution to a better world."

A list cites Manchester College graduates that have been involved in Relief, Rehabilitation and/or Development.

Bio History Note

Rober S. Zigler was the son of M. R. Zigler and was a graduate of Manchester College.  He was a conscientious objector during World War II and did his alternative service working as administrator for the Brethren Service Committee. Bob was a "seagoing cowboy" for Heifer Project in 1946.  In 1946 Bob began work with Church World Service and in 1951 rejoined Heifer Project as an administrator.  During 1961 to 1985 he worked for the United States Agency for International Development in Saigon, Vietnam; Subic Bay, Philippines; Washington, D.C.; Ghana ; and Upper Volta. Bob retired in 1985 and served as a docent at the Smithsonian's African Art Museum.  His involvement with the arts in Washington, D.C. was well known.  Some of Bob's art collection was donated to Manchester College.

The three pages of names and contribution codes were found in the same stack of materials as the letter and seem to be the same type of paper as the letter and appear to be related to the same subject as the letter....and therefore were accessioned with the letter.
