| Bio History Note | President Helman had another seal created in 1984 to replace this one. Helamn was dissatisfied with the old version that had been used since the college's founding as a Brethren institution in 1895. Regarding the old seal, Helman said "......it does not clearly indicate the nature of our mission in higher education." Helman had this to say about the new seal, ".....it will include three words which summarize our philosophy of education: learning, faith and service." |
