Scope and Content

1.  Collection of programs.

2.  Schedule and programs of the "Annual Mathematics Field Day" for the Ninth, Fourteenth, Sixteenth, Seventeenth, and Eighteenth annual events.

3. 1957 Edition of the Balfour Blue Book (merchandise catalogue) and receipts.  File containing ordering information.

4.  Math Club Minutes, 1942 - February 23, 1948.

5.  Mathematics Club Minutes, March 18, 1948 - November 13, 1950.

6.  Mathematics Club Minutes, 1937 - 1938 through February 20, 1942.

7.  Kappa Mu Epsilon, Indiana Alpha Chapter, notebook.

8.  Constitution of the Chi Psi of Manchester College.

9.  Memorabilia and programs.

10.  Information about Kappa Mu Epsilon was also moved from the General File to Large Box 182 in order to keep information together.  It is not part of MC2007/5 but will be stored along with this collection for the sake of convenience.

Bio History Note

Election to membership in Kappa Mu Epsilon, a national honorary mathematics society, was conferred to students in recognition of his/her superior achievement in mathematics, general scholarship, and special interest in mathematics. The object of the society was to "further the interest of mathematics in the undergraduate program, to help the student realize the importance played by mathematics in the development of western civilization, to develop an appreciation of the power and beauty of mathematics, and to provide recognition for outstanding achievement." ( from letter composed by the MC Dept. of Mathematics, date not stated)

Chi Psi: meeting together for the study of subjects having a direct relation to mathematics and for a discussion of mathematical problems.
