One postcard from President Otho Winger written to Jacob Halladay while Mr. And Mrs. Winger were on their international tour, 1928.

One Halladay family tree donated by Paul Halladay, nephew of Professor Paul Halladay.

Bio History Note

Jacob Halladay of Greenville, Ohio, married Margaret ("Maggie" Baker).  They had five children. Two of these children were Paul Halladay and Ruth Halladay.

Within the family, there came to be two Ruth Halladay's.

Paul Halladay married, and when a daughter was born, Paul named this child, Ruth, in honor of his sister.  Consequently, when Ruth Halladay married a "Burkett," she named her son, "Paul" in honor of her brother. 

Paul Burkett, Ruth's (Halladay) Burkett's son, is the donor of this postcard.

Paul Halladay was an alumnus of Manchester College and former professor of Music, 1928-1967.

Post Card from Otho Winger to Jacob Hallady (Sent as part of a packet of mail from Greece and received in late February of 1928.)

Constantinople, Feb. 1, 1928

Dear Bro & Sister Halliday & Yours

I thought you would be inter-

ested in a picture of Mars Hill

where Paul preached his great

sermon.  We were there Sunday.

We send you this card by (Prof)?

Minnich (?). Best wishes. Otho Winger

(Iwas)? glad to hear that Paul is

coming to Manchester.
