Bio History Note | Goldwater's visit to campus was made to appease townspeople who were unhappy over the presence of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The unrest stemmed from King's opposition to the War in Vietnam. Goldwater was in support of the war and presented a differing viewpoint. |
