After teaching for several years she went on to receive her Master's Degree from Bowling Green State University, and spent some time as an elementary principal. Nancy ended her career at the county Board of Education as a curriculum consultant. She spent a total of over 30 years in education. Wendy writes: She was not the only person in our family to attend Manchester. At the same time she was there she had cousins Clara Buchanan and Esther Anderson. Bertha Buchanan also attended I believe, as well as Lawrence (Larry) McCormic. Later, Theodore (Ted or Teddy) Dennis attended, and then came me in 1993 (my last name was Ainsworth when I graduated.....). My father, Roderick Buchanan, attended Manchester as well, but left with just a semester left I believe, and he did not graduate. He passed away in 1995. You will see that Esther, Bertha, Clara and Larry are all mentioned on the backs of some of the pictures.....Almost everyone attended the Deshler Church of the Brethren, located just outside Deshler, Ohio which I'm sure how everyone became affiliated with Manchester. | Archivist Note | Description prepared 21 November 2019 from information presented in a letter by Wendy Schortgen, niece of Nancy Buchanan. |
