It appears that this was Ira's graduation from the College Academy in 1917. Ira Heeter later received a BA degree from Manchester College 1922. He died a year later in 1923.
The 1917 Aurora describes Ira as follows:
Ira Heeter
Roann, Ind.
Academy
Farmer boy. Prefers Whiteheads to anything else. Basketball second tam. How he does like to run that Ford on Sundays. Rather chummy with Tressa. Has not changed girls as often this year as last.
'He has achieved success who has lived long, laught often, and loved much.'
The 1922 Aurora has this to say:
Ira V. Heeter, A.B.

Major, Social Science. A seasoned athlete; forward on basketball team. Fond of 'outside activities.' A good friend to all, neither heedless nor neglectful of that most productive possession, a friend. | Archivist Note | Description prepared 16 February 2010 by Jeanine M. Wine. |
