Section One - Male Student Discussion: The recording begins with what sounds like some type of class or discussion group. The facilitator tries to initiate conversation and ends up talking about "RO" military service and then talks about a student's interest in joining the military. They speak about some of the courses that some students are taking and are asking if they are getting benefits from the courses. It seems like only men were invited to be in this discussion because the comment is made, "Wouldn't it be nice if we could talk like the girls and never run out of things to say?" Because of the great amount of talking about the military it makes one wonder if this group consists of male students who are either in the military or would like to join the military. The facilitator (Tim) asks, "What do you think of the snowfall?" "Would you like to have a white Christmas or a green one?" The facilitator seems to be a student as well. Sports is discussed. Something is said about sports that refers to 1953...so one wonders if this recording was made in the 1950's or early 1960's. Bud Reed is referred to as a famous athlete. There is a Bud Reed who was a famous football player circa 1962 Second Section - Presentations Addressed to; Madam Chairman, Faculty, and Colleagues (the tape will have to be replayed to confirm this) "A man who can not be trusted because he has gone back on his promises." This sentence begins a new section of the recording. A female student talks about the middle east and about the political leader, Nassar. Another woman gives a presentation on Nassar and the Arab Nations. A third woman speaks on the Suez Canal. A fourth woman talks on accessing blame in recent incidents in the Middle East. Nassar was in power from 1956 until his death in 1970. Listening more closely to the recording might pinpoint events that would date the presentations.
