Full listing > Accession MU2015/138 wave sound filesAccession # | MU2015/138 wave sound files | Topic | Family: Groff, Warren and Mollenkott, Dr. Virginia, 1980, | Keywords | Family, Diversity, Homosexuality, Sexuality, | Title | Groff and Mollenkott Speak on Sexuality and Family | Location | Wave sound digital files located on Archives Network [W:] in file titled [Church of the Brethren and MU Relations] and then identified by accession number. | Citation | Groff and Mollenkott Speak on Sexuality and Family, MU2015/138 wave sound files, Archives and Brethren Historical Collection, Funderburg Library, Manchester University, North Manchester, Indiana. | Access | Researchers are responsible for determining copyright status of archived materials where this is relevant to their intended use of the materials. | Provenance | Cassette Tape Cabinet | Scope and Content | One reel-to-reel tape and a cassette tape. Dr. Warren Groff, President of Bethany Theological Seminary, speaks on family under the lordship of Christ. Dr.Virginia Mollenkott speaks on "Sexuality and the Formation of Family," 6 October 1980. She deals with the Biblical basis for male and female equality within the covenant community. It appears the seminar was held over October 6, 7, 8, 1980. The sound wave files might contain duplications and the dates of October 6, 7, 8 might not be accurate. One reel-to-reel tape, corresponding CDs, and wave sound files on Network [W:]. | Date of Accession | 24 February 2011 | Bio History Note | Warren Groff tells Bethany Theological Seminary garden club rototiller carburetor story regarding Donald Miller and Al Kiefaber (MC alumns) and John Cassell groundhog story. The CD and Wave Sound files probably come from two different sources. The CD from the reel-to-reel tape and the Wave Sound file from the cassette tape. It is quite confusing. Also, Mollenkott presented Convocation #85 at Manchester College. The sound wave recording of this presentation can be found on Network [W:] in folder titled {Audio_Convocation]. | Archivist Note | One can't know what is on the reel-to-reel tape because archivist does not have equipment to play it. The CD probably corresponds to the reel-to-reel tape. The same tape was likely used (1975?) to record a Manchester Church of the Brethren service (probably with David Rogers as pastor), and then Mollenkott was recorded over it. Cassette tape transferred to CD by Instructional Technologies Department in February 2011. Description prepared 23 February 2011 by Jeanine M. Wine. |
