Portrait of Vernon Schwalm - MC2008/67 - is kept with this collection of President's images as well.

Note on verso: Car presented to President Otho Winger Following Senior Recognition Services in Gym and presented with a new De Soto by faculty and business men - 1941 at time of his retirement - Coach Stauffer made the presentation.  His father had helped to present another car 30 years before.

Chinese Wedding photograph, inscription on verso:

This photograph appears on page 119 of "memories of Manchester" with the caption "the Cheng Wedding in North Manchester."  (no date is given here).

On p. 120 and p. 121 the following paragraph is given:

"One of the outstanding memories of our trip (1927) is a short visit to Shanghai.  We were not much intereste in the city, for by the time we got there we were "fed up" on cities; but we were very much interested in the two people we were to see there, Hubert Cheng and his wife, who was Ella Ling when she was a student in Manchetser a few years before.  We visited them in their beautiful home and had dinner wtih them andt heir children.  We visited the grave of Hubert's sister, Mary, who was a student in Manchester College with Ella Ling and who died shortly after her return to China.  The time we had to spend with these Chinese friends who had been students in Manchester was all to short."
