Bio History Note

The student group, Manchester Mobe [Mobilization] to End the War, was formed in reaction to the war in Indochina.  The newsletter by the same name detailed the group's activities and provided information on the topic.  It has ceased publication, date unknown.

Note added by Jeanine Wine 17 November 2010 copied from "Manchester Mobe To End The War," signed by Peg Reiman:

Thank you all for making this spring a good and active one for the Manchester campus.   ...   The rally in the town of North manchester was a very moving experience for many of us.  Even the fact that we had a rally was significant, because it was a first for the community.  ...  Going to Washington on April 24 was also a good experience.  As you have probably heard through the media, the march was completely peaceful.  Many working-class people, older people, and families were new additions to the line of march.  Although the official estimates were set at 200,000, other movement sources estimate the number at around 500,000.
