W. was the biology professor at Mount Morris College and became the highly respected interim president at that institution following the fire that caused caused Mount Morris to eventually close its doors and merge with Manchester College. Professor Neher and family moved to North Manchester where he taught biology before retiring from teaching and taking a job with campus maintenance.
