Bio History Note | Dr. Gene Likens is an alumnus of Manchester College. He received an honorary Doctor of Science degree at Manchester College's 1979 Commencement. Dr. Likens is an ecologist best known for his discovery of acid rain in North America. He co-founded the internationally renowned Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study and founded the Institute of Ecosystem Studies. |
