Note: Many photos have years written on the verso,but they don’t match pictures in the Aurorafor that given year. This is probably because the identifier was unaware thatsometimes pictures were taken too late in the academic year to be included inthat particular year’s Aurora – so –they were included in the NEXT issue of the Aurora.  Eg. The MayDay play of 1954 would probably be found in the 1955 Aurora.

Beulah Woods - See also: MC2006/13: Schwalm's Confidential Files - Folders 54 - 61.  Woods was a student at the University of Chicago and stayed with the Schwalm family while Schwalm was working on his Ph.D.  He mentions Woods in his autobiography on (or around page 25) - note from Kelley Brenneman, student assistant in the Archives.

Mike Willoughby and Beth (Rainbolt) Willoughby were participants in the 1983 Jan Term Children’s Theatre group.  Their production was titled, "The Storytellers."  Mike and Beth remember-

Students started rehearsing about 2-3 weeks before rehearsal. They spent the first part of Jan term practicing…then 2-3 weeks of performances.  They did two to four performances a day at elementary schools, libraries, community centers.  They traveled throughout northern Indiana all in one van with all the props and students together. Some people had to sit on the van's floor. They lived in their acting tights.  Sometimes they did two shows in one place, but never three, so they moved around quite a bit and always came back to the college at night.  They would leave the college early and come back very late. 

It was fun and tiring and they really got to know one another.

Once they came over the railroad tracks in Pierceton, IN, and all who were riding in the seats --- bounced way out of them and came sitting back down with a wallop.
