Jan Leonard writes about this individual: "Mary was always such a contradiction with her background. She was a twin (the twin did not attend college) from a well-to-do farm family in Fredericktown, Ohio. After college she traveled with six friends up into Canada, across to California and back through the Western States. She married a doctor and traveled the world. After his death she married a farmer and became an excellent cook. Never having children gave her time to serve her church and community.
