Scope and ContentFile collected for Science Center's Gene Likens display case.  It includes biographical material, President A. Blair Helman letter, and photographs donated to Manchester College by Dr. Gene Likens in 2005.

Bio History NoteDr. Gene Likens is an alumnus of Manchester College.  He received an honorary Doctor of Science degree at Manchester College's 1979 Commencement.  Dr. Likens is an ecologist best known for his discovery of acid rain in North America.  He co-founded the internationally renowned Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study and founded the Institute of Ecosystem Studies.
