Manchester University is partnering with Ascend Indiana to connect more students to promising career opportunities in Indiana.

Ascend Indiana is an initiative of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP) committed to making Indiana a place of economic opportunity for all.

Through the Ascend Network, the initiative’s online job matching platform, Manchester students will be able to connect with Indiana jobs and internships that match their skill sets and interests while receiving increased one-on-one career guidance and job search support. In addition, this partnership provides Indiana’s leading employers with a unique platform for hiring Manchester students. 

Since its inception in 2017, Ascend has connected more than 4,000 Hoosiers with jobs and training opportunities in all sectors across the state. More than 700 employers are currently using the Network. 

“Our office mission is to help students learn strategies to explore, evaluate, and implement career goals that reflect life values,” said Tish Kalita, Manchester’s director of career and professional development. “Ascend helps make that happen by providing pathways to internship and job opportunities at Indiana's leading organizations. Students are introduced to amazing opportunities within Indiana and employers gain access to Manchester students who are eager and ready to make immediate contributions to their organizations.” 

In addition to the career coaching, professional development events and resources that Manchester provides on campus, the Ascend Network is a robust addition that gives students access to job postings and career mentors that align with their career goals at no cost. 

“It is critical for Indiana to retain more college students with relevant skills and abilities to meet employer demand for talent,” said Jason Kloth, president and CEO of Ascend Indiana. “Partnering with educational institutions such as Manchester University is essential to equipping students with the necessary tools to get their career started here through an internship or early-in-career job, as well as to helping employers connect with the talent they need.” 

The Ascend Network is a resource offered through Manchester’s Career and Professional Development office at no cost to students. Through the Network, students will receive personalized job and internship recommendations that lead to meaningful careers in Indiana.
