Manchester offers ‘Marx in Soho’ Sept. 20 

The public is invited to Manchester University on Tuesday, Sept. 20, for a performance of Marx in Soho, written by American historian, playwright and social activist Howard Zinn. 

The performance will begin at 7 p.m. in Wine Recital Hall on the North Manchester campus. 

Actor Bob Weick plays the role of Karl Marx, returned to life to defend his ideas and highlight the social issues we are facing even today.

“Marx has been dead for nearly 150 years, but what he has to say about the human condition, and about the working conditions of the vast majority of laborers around the world, is as relevant today as it was in his own,” says Steve Naragon, MU professor of philosophy. 

This performance is sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies, through the support of the Timothy Wayne Rieman and Gwen Radebach Rieman Fund.
