Beam leads pharmaceutical sciences at Manchester University

Teri A. Beam, Ph.D., has been named department chair of pharmaceutical sciences at Manchester University College of Pharmacy, Natural & Health Sciences. 

Beam joined the Manchester Pharmacy Program in July 2015 and has more than 20 years of academic experience in teaching, research, faculty leadership and administration. 

Before joining Manchester, she served as professor and chair in the Biology Department at the University of Saint Francis and has earned numerous teaching awards and grants from organizations including the National Science Foundation, Independent Colleges of Indiana and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Beam earned her B.S. in biology-chemistry from Saint Francis and her Ph.D. in molecular biology from the University of Notre Dame. She is recognized for her expertise in medical genetics, molecular biology and pharmacogenomics.

Beam’s first day in her new role was Jan. 2.

Originally from Fort Wayne and a Homestead High School graduate, she lives in Columbia City.
