Manchester pharmacy dean wins Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Dr. W. Thomas Smith, dean of Pharmacy Programs at Manchester University, has received the 2018 American Bar Association Health Law Section Champion of Diversity and Inclusion Award for his “extraordinary efforts to foster an environment of acceptance and equality.”
He received the award during the 19th annual Conference on Emerging Issues in Healthcare on Wednesday, Feb. 21, during a networking reception celebrating diversity, young lawyers and law students.
“This award is being presented to you in recognition of your inspiration to your
many students and colleagues,” the letter announcing his selection said. “Your exceptional efforts to provide diversity and inclusion both within the Section and the legal profession and the greater community truly embodies the spirit of this award.”
The Manchester University Pharmacy Programs – a doctoral program in pharmacy and master’s program in pharmacogenomics – are based at the Fort Wayne, Ind., campus and are part of the College of Pharmacy, Natural and Health Sciences.
