Statement on the passing of Chris Garber

Statement as issued Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, by Manchester University President Dave McFadden upon the death of Chris Garber:

It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to Chris Garber, our dear friend and colleague.

Chris served as the assistant vice president for operations at Manchester University and cared deeply about the University and North Manchester, his hometown. He was the Town Council president and served as town manager prior to coming to work at the University. In 2009, Chris was named North Manchester Citizen of the Year. He was a much-loved supervisor of the MU Physical Plant staff, always projecting a positive attitude and often breaking out in song. 

We extend our deepest sympathies to his family. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
