Manchester University hosts Student Research Symposium
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester University will host the 18th annual Student Research Symposium on Friday, April 29. This symposium is a premier opportunity for members of the public to see original research by top students at the University.
The free presentations by students will be at the North Manchester campus between 3:30 and 6:25 p.m. The buildings are both on East Street.
Academic Center
3:30 p.m. – Programs available in lobby give presentation locations.
4-4:20 p.m. – Oral Presentation 1
4:25-4:45 p.m. – Oral Presentation 2
Jo Young Switzer Center
4:45- 5:45 p.m. – Poster Presentations, Speicher Room
5:45- 6:15 p.m. – Keynote Presentation, Hoff/Lahman Rooms
6:15- 6:25 p.m. – Presentation of awards
Fourteen academic programs will be represented: English, biology, environmental studies, mathematics, psychology, economics, music, history, educational studies, physics, chemistry, sport management, marketing and pharmacy. There will be 48 presentations.
Ciara Kerckhove, a senior physics major from North Liberty, Ind., has been chosen for the keynote presentation, offered to all symposium attendees. Its title is “My Search for the Pale Red Dot: Detection and Modeling of Saturation Behavior of Eu Ion Emission in Eu-doped GaN under UV Excitation.”
The Manchester University Student Symposium is sponsored by the Student Research Symposium Committee at the University.
