Grant awarded to Dennis Brown for MS research at Manchester
The Indiana Academy of Science has funded a proposal by Manchester University Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dennis Brown to further research the potential of a compound in treating multiple sclerosis.
The proposal is for “Optimization of dithiolethione ACDT as an anti-neuroinflammatory agent.” It is a $2,468, one-year grant.
Multiple sclerosis is an autoimmune disorder that is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord. The immune system attacks the protective sheath (myelin) in the central nervous system.
