Manchester to honor Janis Clark Johnston

Janis Clark Johnston

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – Manchester University is proud to recognize alumna Janis Clark Johnston at the Alumni Honor Award Banquet for her outstanding accomplishments.

Johnston graduated from Manchester in 1969 with honors in psychology. Upon graduation, she furthered her education at Boston University, where she earned her master’s degree in school psychology and a doctorate in counseling psychology.

When her husband, Mark, passed away in 1999, she followed through on their dream to establish an entrepreneurial education program at Manchester, endowing the Mark E. Johnston Professor of Entrepreneurship.

Currently, Johnston has a family therapy private practice in Oak Park, Ill. Serving primarily children, adolescents and their families, she has made great strides in counseling the youth in her community.

The banquet will take place 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in the Jo Young Switzer Center on the North Manchester campus. Tickets are $16 for adult, $8 for ages 6-12 and free to children age 5 and younger.
