Workman to perform classical solo guitar works at Manchester


Scott WorkmanThe Manchester University Department of Music presents Scott Workman in a program including works by Luis Milan, J.S. Bach, Fernando Sor, Isaac Albeniz and Carlo Domeniconi, as well as his own compositions.

The solo classical guitar performance is 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22, in Wine Recital Hall on East Street in North Manchester, Ind.

It is free and open to the public.

Workman holds a bachelor of music education degree from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, and a master of music in guitar performance from Indiana University South Bend. While at IUSB, he received a music talent scholarship and his composition Serendipitango premiered in 2012.

He is a lecturer of music in guitar at Manchester and also teaches at Grace College in Winona Lake, Ind. He is worship leader-music director at Warsaw Missionary Church in Warsaw, Ind.

Workman has been playing for more than 30 years, teaching for more than 25, and he performs in many styles, including classical, rock and contemporary Christian music.
