Student Financial Services Verification

Federal Verification: What it means for you

Your 2017-2018 FAFSA may be selected by the U.S. Department of Education or Manchester University for a process known as Federal Verification. Federal Verification is an important part of the financial aid application process and is used to verify the accuracy of information provided on the FAFSA. If you are selected for Federal Verification, the requirements must be met in order for us to disburse financial aid to your student account.

If you are a new student, your financial aid award notification is considered ESTIMATED, pending the completion of the verification process. If you are a returning student, you will not receive a financial aid award notification until the verification process is complete.

NOTE: Students should only complete Federal Verification documents if they have been selected for verification and have been notified by Student Financial Services. Newly admitted students do NOT need to submit the verification materials unless they plan to attend Manchester University.

A student’s verification type will appear on the Financial Aid Award Notification under VERIFICATION – IMPORTANT – IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED. The student will also receive email notifications from Student Financial Services. Select the document below matching your verification type and “print all.” An example of the verification type would be Dependent V1 - Standard Verification. Submit completed documents to Student Financial Services. All documents MUST be submitted together. Incomplete submissions may result in the loss of financial aid.
