College of Health Professions, Nursing and Pharmacy

Overview

The Biology-Chemistry Secondary Education Major is designed for students who want to teach high school chemistry. This program prepares students to learn the science of teaching while developing expertise in chemistry. You’ll graduate with a license to teach at middle and high school levels. While the demand for high school chemistry teachers is already extremely high, it is still projected to grow 8% annually according to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, much faster than the average for all occupations.
