Manchester graduate Nick Barbknecht’s inquisitiveness about other places was nurtured at MU, where he took several political trips and learned to appreciate the diversity and differences of a diverse and different world. He took that appreciation with him when he left North Manchester – and last summer turned it into a 30-day, 48-state road trip across America spurred on by a man named Randal Olson and a website named Discovery News.
