"I love this place with all my heart"
You just feel the positive energy when you’re talking to Hannah Field '16. The senior accounting major flashes a big grin when she talks about how Manchester has helped her grow: “I have discovered my strengths and weaknesses, learned from failures, grown in many ways, and feel so prepared for the real world!”
The “real world” is just around the corner. Over the summer, she worked as an auditing intern at BKD, a CPA firm in Fort Wayne, Ind. She so impressed BKD that the firm offered her a job as an auditor when she graduates. “I really enjoyed getting to know what public accounting entails and I’m excited to join the BKD team,” she says.
Hannah also excels outside the office. She is president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, treasurer of the College of Business Club, a member of the Manchester Activities Council, a consultant for the College of Business Writing Center and an accounting tutor for the Success Center. She also participates in intermural volleyball and basketball.
The soon-to-be-graduate has big plans for her future. Eventually, Hannah would like to combine her accounting skills with her faith. Her dream job entails working with a mission organization on items such as serving overseas, budgeting and other financial responsibilities. “I would love to travel to Third World countries,” says Hannah. “God is so amazing, and I want to serve in whatever way God calls me.” She also has plans of furthering her education and pursing a master’s degree in education in order to teach at a small university similar to Manchester.
Hannah has fallen in love with Manchester University. “Manchester is my home away from home. I love this place with all my heart and could not imagine being at another school.” She adds that Manchester has “helped me be more open-minded about so many different things, become more understanding of people’s differences, and grow as an individual. Getting involved in so much has been awesome as well. I’ve gotten to be a leader, a follower, a teammate, a friend, the encourager, and so much more,” she says. “I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”
