  • Elder earns administrative professional certification

    Posted July 19 - Celia Elder, administrative assistant, passed her Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence exam on June 29, becoming a certified administrative professional. This certification covers four proficiency models, including interpersonal communication, task and project management, computer and internet technology, and management skills.

    Posted June 16 - Lucas Dargo has been named District 4 governmental affairs chair for the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Lucas is director of the Athletic Training Program and an assistant professor of exercise science and athletic training.

  • Ades named Mentor of the Year

    Posted June 16 - Ryan Ades has been named the 2021 Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Mentor of the Year. Ryan is the director of experiential education for the Pharmacy Program and assistant professor of pharmacy practice.

  • Experiential education team wins Award of Excellence

    Posted June 15 - Every year, the AACP Experiential Education Section presents the Award of Excellence in Experiential Education to one deserving individual or group of individuals for their outstanding contribution to the world of experiential education. With the challenging events of 2020, the Experiential Education Section Awards Committee decided that this year’s award should honor all members of experiential education departments at each institution for their tremendous efforts at keeping the programs operating despite pandemic-related challenges. Those honored from Manchester were Ryan Ades, director of experiential education; Karen Failor, experiential education operations specialist; Kathryn Marwitz, assistant professor of pharmaceutical sciences; and Raylene Rospond, associate dean of clinical affairs and outreach. 

     

  • Three win 2021 Pharmacy Faculty Awards

    Posted June 15 - Winners of the 2021 Pharmacy Faculty Awards for outstanding accomplishments are Dennis Brown, Lorin M. Sheppard Teacher of the Year; Marwa Noureldin, Scholar of the Year; and Teresa DeLellis, Outstanding Service Award. The three were recognized at the virtual Pharmacy Hooding and Awards Ceremony on May 20.  

     

     

  • Kisor receives Innovation in PGx Teaching Award

    Posted June 14 - David Kisor, professor of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacogenomics, has received the Pharmacogenomics Special Interest Group’s 2021 Innovation in PGx Teaching Award. Kisor says that, although he was the honoree, Tom Smith, associate professor of pharmacy practice and pharmacogenomics, played an integral role in the effort.

  • Bollinger elected president-elected of nutrition, dietetics academy

    Posted June 14 - Laura Bollinger, assistant professor of nutrition and nutrigenomics, and program director of the Master of Science in Nutrition and Nutrigenomics, has been elected to serve as president-elect of the Northeast Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The academy includes more than 1,3000 dietetic professionals, representing all areas of nutrition services including those at hospitals, school food services, public health, long-term care facilities, education, research, private practice, pharmaceutical companies and special needs.
