Posted May 8 - Manchester’s Jared Bourff has been selected as the Indiana AHPERD Outstanding Student of the Year.  He will compete in the district competition against five other Midwest students this summer.  If selected, he will go on to the national competition.

Three other MU students majoring in physical education teacher education were also nominated for the award by the Indiana Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. They were Hunter Gaerte, Paige Keller and Mark Osmialowski. The nomination is based on academics and leadership, as well as service to their institution, community and the health and physical education profession.

MU has had one national recipient in Melanie DeGrandchamp ’09, the Undergraduate Adapted Physical Education Student of the Year for the Society for Health and Physical Educators.
