Dr. Gene Sharp speaks on "Focus on Issues for Social Change," delivered on 2 October 1975.  Dr. Sharp has been described as the world's top theorist of nonviolent strategy.

Peace Studies and Co-Curricular Departments of the College invited Elizabeth McCallister and Phillip Berrigan to speak of their convictions. The cassette tape is dated 11 March 1976.

Dr. Gareth Porter speaks in convocation on 18 September 1978 on the topic of "U.S. Encounter with Viet Nam."

"Disciplining the Faith - Response - Sojourners," 10 November 1980, Jim Wallis, editor of Sojourners magazine.

"Remembering World War II," was presented on 11 November 2002. Professor Katherine Tinsley gives an overview of "Armistice Day" and "Veterans Day," and intervies three MC alumni about their experiences during WWII; Gene Stone, Onita Johnson, Gilbert Weldy.

Gene Sharp presents, "Gandhi's Challenge to Modern Politics," on 5 March 1984.  Nonviolent ways of solving problems in the world today.

Recipient of the Sargent Shriver Award by the National Peace Corps Association, and an honorary doctorate from Manchester College, Loren Finnell is a member of the Manchester College Class of 1964.

He composed a draft of a autobiography entitled, "Still a County Boy.....After having been around the world a couple of times, The memoirs of Loren Finnell." In this manuscript Loren relates his experience at Manchester College, including a clandestine trip to Washington, D.C. for a "Ban the Bomb" demonstration.

The Plowshares grant was awarded to Earlham, Goshen, and Manchester Colleges by the Lilly Foundation in 2002.  Its purpose was to strengthen the Peace Studies programs at the three colleges.

C.P.S. Unit 101 Registrar's Records along with a brief history and reference material describing the creation of CPS Camp 101 and its sub-camps, of which Manchester College was one. Manchester College's 10-week program was directed locally by Dr. Andrew W. Cordier.  The sixty-seventy CPS'ers were chosen by Brethren Service Committee, and the plan was for them to leave the country and begin relief and rehabilitation work immediately after the program's completion.

Material regarding William Stafford. William Stafford (1914-1993), US Poet Laureate 1970, received Relief and Rehabilitation training in Civilian Public Service Camp 101 at Manchester College 1943, was member of MC English faculty 1955-56, and visited the college many other times.

Kagawa: The photograph that appears on page 116 of the book, "A Century of Faith, Learning and Service, Manchester College. " In 1936 the College hosted a major conference called "An Institute on Christian World Order," featuring Japanese peace activist Toyohiko Kagawa.

Rev. Kiyoshi was a survivor of the bombing of Hiroshima and worked with victims of the bomb.  He raised funds for the Hiroshima Maidens project in which women, severly burned by the bomb, received constructive surgery. He also raised funds for a peace center in Hiroshima. His message was delivered on 11 October 1982.

One newsletter. There is not a title or exact date on this publication, but a caricature of President Richard Nixon and a list of recommended anti-Vietnam War deadlines for action in 1971 serve as a date in themselves.

The Lemberg Center for the Study of Violence contains information on the race riots of the 1960s and originated at Brandeis University outside of Boston.  The archive was transferred to Manchester College on permanent loan in 1979, and was housed there until 1997, when it was transferred to the University of Notre Dame.
