The purpose therefore was to study through observation and interview the relationship of the church to (1) totalitarianism, (2) the needs of war sufferers and the relief program, and (3) the European 'peace movement'. [sic] A further objective was pursued insofar as time permitted--namely, to discover some general trends in higher education. obviously, years or a lifetime could be devoted [sic] any one of these objectives. Only a bare introduction was possible in this brief time." A. Stauffer Curry
