Articles of Incorporation and Charter | MU2017/1 | June1895 Agreement between Citizens' Committee of North Manchester and representatives of the German Baptist College which proposes location at this point. 1895 articles of association (charters) filed in the Office of the Secretary of State for "Manchester College" and "The Bible School," including role of Trustees and the German Baptist Brethren. 1902 - "Manchester College"- a body politic and corporate, authorized and empowered by the laws of the State of Indiana to proceed to carry out the objects of its organization, signed by Hunt, Secretary of State. September 1902 Department of State Certificate - Articles of Association. Secretary of State, Ed Jackson, provides copy of 1902 articles of incorporation in September 1920. Copy of Articles of Incorporation June 1937 showing history of incorporation by copying information from 1902 document. 1944 authorization of Schwalm and Ikenberry to execute all instruments pertaining to the business of Manchester College - "Certified Copy of Articles of Incorporation" - Manchester College Foundation and Holding Company, Inc. Schutz, J. Raymond | MC2011/227, Folders 45 - 83 | A large collection designated as MC2011/227 and divided into 5 folder groupings; [1-16], [17-22], [23-44], [45-83]. Schutz was a professor at Manchester College, as well as a farmer, public speaker, pastor, candidate for Congress (Indiana,1932) and a contendor in the 1936 Governor's race. He was a Kiwanis Club official and Chairman of the Standard Life Insurance Company of Indiana. The collection describes Indiana before and during WWII. Schutz corresponds with soldiers and provides names of North Manchester men killed in combat. Topics of import include; prohibition, economic recovery from the Great Depression, and Hitler's impact on Europe. Schutz was a contemporary of Andrew Cordier who participated in some of Schutz's political involvements. |
