Coaching

Program Opportunities

  • Minor in Coaching

Overview

There’s a lot that goes into coaching beyond a love for the sport. You don’t even have to be a Spartan athlete. At MU, you’ll learn scientific, psychological and administrative principles that focus on appropriate coaching behaviors. We make it easy for you to add a coaching minor to your major and prepare to lead young people on the court, track or field.

Program Highlights

  • The coaching minor is 20 credit hours, including electives.
  • Our coaching curriculum includes a variety of sports. Separate, specific courses address coaching techniques and strategies in volleyball, football, wrestling, soccer, track and field, basketball and baseball/softball.
  • You’ll get hands-on coaching experience with an internship tailored to your interests and career objectives.
