2022 Research

Heather Binion '23 did summer research on the North Manchester campus with Dr. Watson doing the synthesis of antiviral carbocyclic nucleosides.

Brooke Bouwens '23 did summer research in the Scannable Lab at the University of Nebraska researching maize and using leaf samples to analyze hyper spectral relevance and investigate hybrid vigor for the leaf traits.

Kylie Castator '23 did summer research on the North Manchester campus with Dr. Watson to discover a new route for synthesis of sulfa-like compounds. 

Emma Dixon '23 did summer research at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with Dr. Poopalasingam Sivakumar using computation aided Ramam spectroscopy in the early detection of ovarian cancer. 

Kaitlin Graber '23 did summer research on the North Manchester campus with Dr. Osborne on the quantification of furosemide and the synthesis of 1,3,5-triphenylpentane for biodegradation study.

Connor Hamilton '25 did summer research on the North Manchester campus with Dr. Osborne on the biodegradation of organic molecules, specifically diphenhydramine hydrochloride, fluorescein, and 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-diphenylbutane. 

Erika Renbarger '23 did summer research on the Fort Wayne Campus with Dr. Brown on cell culturing and the efficacy of potential drugs to treat multiple sclerosis.


2021 Research 

Brisa Arriaga '22 did January research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Osborne over the biodegradation of perfluorooctanoic acid.

Brooke Bouwens '23 did January research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Osborne researching the biodegradation of 1,3-diphenylpropane.

 did summer research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Watson on utilizing transition metal catalysts and cycloaddition, to produce a small library of potential carbocyclic nucleoside antiviral compounds.

Adelle Stanko '23 did summer research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Short on ecotoxicology research over planarian model organisms.

Jennifer Wagner '22 did summer research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Short on the regeneration rate of flat worms when exposed to chemicals Falcarinol and Vinyl Chloride.

Connor Glenn '21 did summer research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Watson over the synthesis of heteroatom-activated antibiotics. 

Alexa Kessen '21 did summer research at the North Manchester campus with Dr. Robison examining the functionality and importance of Soybean MED16.

Ella Machall '22 did summer research at the Fort Wayne campus with Dr. Beckett and Dr. Lynn investigating how p-values are used in pharmacy literature and how p-values in pharmacy literature have evolved over time.

Corey Uetrecht '20 did summer research at the Fort Wayne campus with Dr. Mohan on the effects of memory in mice born after in utero opioid exposure. 

Nicole Weaver '20 did summer research at the Fort Wayne campus on optimizing the Resazurin protocol and investigating the antimicrobial properties of MRSA. 

Kendall Wrage '20 did summer research at the Fort Wayne campus with Dr. Mundra on drug delivery of a combination of multiple myeloma drugs.
